The project aims to address the gap in understanding and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Vocational Education and Training (VET). It recognizes that while the younger generation may be digital natives, they are often unfamiliar with cutting-edge technologies like AI.
Key aspects of the project include:
● Understanding AI: The project acknowledges that AI will soon replace simple repetitive mental and physical work, leading to a complete change in the employment system and occupational patterns of traditional society. This has significant implications for vocational education as many jobs may be replaced by AI.
● Digital Transformation: The project recognizes the growing popularity of digitized vocational education. However, it also acknowledges that most schools are unaware of basic AI terms and its application areas. The project aims to innovate teaching methods and concepts to help students better understand AI.
● Innovative Teaching Methods: The project aims to introduce innovative teaching methods in vocational education to adapt to the fast-changing technological environment. It seeks to raise awareness about cutting-edge technologies that will shape vocational education.
● E-Learning Platform: The project proposes an open E-learning platform integrating innovative teaching tools such as e-learning materials, podcasts, and real-life innovation challenges on AI. This platform aims to raise awareness about AI and trigger creativity, critical thinking, and complex information processing. The project addresses three key topics: creating new, innovative or joint curricula or courses; digital skills and competences; overcoming skills mismatch and addressing the needs of the labour market. The consortium believes that AI will revolutionize VET education and seeks to adapt to these changing circumstances.

DigiVET is a project that would capitalize on the momentum of platformization to enable an innovative solution to vocational education. An ideal outcome is a standalone integrated platform with different elements brought together to facilitate the flow of the process, both ways, from education to learners and from prospects to hosting institutions.
Features:
Digital mobilities
International mobilities are going to the digital space – administration wise. A digital space, platform where students, schools and hosting companies can be connected even before the mobilities.
Development of e-learning materials
Building upon the need for digital competencies and skills that are not available through the traditional vocational education, we will develop e-learning materials with a special focus on digital skills for all kinds of disciplines to better match the changes job criteria and the changing circumstances. The main focus of the materials will be to develop the student’s competencies in order to face new challenges and improve students’ employability.
Creating synergies through cooperation and transnational challenges:
To catalyze cooperation between the educational institutions, business representatives, and other associated partners in order to support a comprehensive approach to innovation and knowledge exchange.
