ABOUT GSA
THE global startup awards (GSA)
The Global Startup Awards (GSA) is the largest independent competition within the global startup ecosystem. Leveraging its comprehensive competition framework and global events, GSA runs programs worldwide.
Headquartered in Copenhagen, the organization is currently active in over 154 countries across seven continents, divided into 19 regions, and continues to expand rapidly.
Mission
Our mission is to deliver high-quality, Oscar-style awards to startup ecosystems on local, regional, and global scales. We aim to use our brand as a powerful tool to create added value for stakeholders across these communities.
GOAL
Our primary goal is to inspire, motivate, and recognize entrepreneurship on a global stage.
We strive to enhance the entire startup ecosystem by fostering connections among startup enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem supporters from diverse and complementary backgrounds.
Vision
We aim to identify, support, and connect the top 1% of local startup ecosystems worldwide.
Our goal is to create a platform that not only connects, promotes, and showcases startups and entrepreneurs within their respective regions but also elevates them to the global stage through strategic communication, public relations, competitions, and events. At GSA, we believe that the future will be shaped by founders who excel in technology and innovation.
ORIGIN
GSA originated from the Nordic Startup Awards (NSA), which was established as the first regional startup competition in 2012.
In 2015, the GSA umbrella brand was then launched to connect all regional competitions.
Today, GSA offers a global platform that delivers significant value to participants, including stakeholders, governmental institutions, corporations, and private companies.
Values
One of our core values is to uphold the independence of our competition. Therefore, we do not sell data to any third parties under any circumstances. Additionally, we never charge our nominees, applicants, or winners for any aspect related to the competition or its events.
How it works
The competition framework is designed to represent and engage all key stakeholders essential for a thriving startup ecosystem.
