NEW CHAPTER, NEW REGIONAL COMPETITIONS

At the Global Startup Awards, our commitment to showcasing entrepreneurial talent and innovation across the world remains stronger than ever.

To ensure our competition truly reflects the diverse and interconnected global ecosystem, we’re thrilled to introduce a significant update to our regional structure.

By adding new regions and making strategic adjustments, we’re enhancing the opportunities for startups to shine within their local networks and beyond, while creating a more cohesive global platform.

Below you will find a closer look at what’s new.

INTRODUCING SEVEN NEW REGIONS

Our newest update brings seven additional regions to the competition, creating a more comprehensive and inclusive global view.

The new regions that will now be part of our GSA network are:

With these additions, we can now connect and celebrate even more vibrant startup ecosystems, uniting diverse talents and fostering global collaboration.

Each of these new regions will have dedicated competitions, allowing entrepreneurs from all corners of the world to shine within their local context and then progress to compete on the global stage.

REBRANDING OF THE EURO-ASIA REGION

To create a clearer identity and align with our vision for cohesive regional representation, we’ve rebranded what was formerly the Euro-Asia Startup Awards to Global Startup Awards - Eastern Europe.

This change aligns Eastern European countries under a unified banner and enhances recognition of this crucial entrepreneurial landscape.

As a result, our previous regional website, www.euroasianstartupawards.com, will no longer be active.

The new Global Startup Awards - Eastern Europe identity captures the spirit of this region and reflects its unique place in our global competition.

STRATEGIC SHIFTS FOR BETTER REPRESENTATION

As part of our reorganization, we’ve moved several countries to different regions to ensure the best possible representation and regional balance:

  • Bulgaria has transitioned from Central European Startup Awards to Global Startup Awards - Eastern Europe, joining neighbouring countries in this newly rebranded category.

  • Türkiye has moved from the former Euro-Asia Startup Awards (now Global Startup Awards - Eastern Europe) to South Europe Startup Awards, aligning more closely with neighbouring South European ecosystems.

  • Israel has also shifted from Middle East Startup Awards to South Europe Startup Awards for a more fitting regional context.

  • Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia have moved from Central European Startup Awards to Nordic Startup Awards, reflecting their proximity and alignment with the Nordic entrepreneurial landscape.

These adjustments are designed to create a stronger, more logical regional framework, promoting a sense of unity within each region and offering a smoother experience for all our participants.

We’re excited to embark on this new chapter with our expanded regional overview, fostering a more connected, diverse, and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Stay tuned as these new regions kick off their own journeys within the Global Startup Awards, and we continue to spotlight the innovation, resilience, and creativity of entrepreneurs worldwide.
